Metallic Bearings
These high-performance metallic bearing materials solve a host of problems that plague sliding parts.
METAL BUSHING(LUBRICATED METAL)
This is a bearing material in which aluminum alloy and copper alloy comprise a two- or three-layer structure with a steel backing. This structure, whose mechanical strength is high, can be used under lubricated conditions and high-speed/high-load operation. It can be made from a variety of different materials, depending on the application, use conditions and lubrication.
Load capability can be improved by oil holes, grooves, etc., depending on lubrication conditions. In some cases, a dry bearing can also be used under lubricated conditions.
THERMALLOY TYPE D bearings are available in bronze alloys as finished bushings and other standard parts. Lead-bronze products are made to order and do not comply with RoHS or ELV regulations.
THERMALLOY TYPE T is a metallic self-lubricating bearing material in which a solid lubricant, mainly graphite, is evenly dispersed throughout various base metals. Type T is a special Thermalloy grade that can be used under wider conditions. The base metals are composed of different types of materials such as bronze, iron and nickel, and a solid lubricant can be selected in accordance with use conditions.
*Lead bronze is not covered by RoHS/ELV regulations.
THERMALLOY TYPE BB is a steel- backed material with a TYPE D material lining (B1/6, B1/8 or BL2/8). It is suitable for use under high loads in a confined space. Dimensions of materials and wrapped bushes for sliding plates have been standardized.
THERMALLOY PILLOW UNIT is a self-aligning, lubrication-free bearing unit comprised of an outer ring of THERMALLOY high-performance bearing material and a stainless steel inner ring incorporated into a stainless steel bearing box.
STEEL BUSHING is a wrapped bush made of steel or stainless steel using an environmentally friendly production method that reduces chips and improves material yield.
